He served as Director of the Institute of Biotechnology in Helsinki from 2015 to 2017. His research focuses on the genetics, cell biology, and pathophysiology of mitochondria, studied using various model organisms. From 2009 to 2014, he was Chief Editor of EMBO Reports, one of EMBO\u2019s flagship journals, and he currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Fly. He brings extensive experience in how research journals operate and manage the publication process. He is also a prolific commentator on research policy and scientific activity. Participants will receive individualized feedback on their ongoing PhD projects and manuscript ideas.
