TalTech School of Business and Governance (Akadeemia tee 3, room SOC-322<\/strong>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop offers the hands-on tools to improve both your papers and your writing process. Most researchers learn academic writing by trial and error, dedicated training speeds up the learning process. This two-day workshop aims at acquiring the skills to design successful academic papers. \nParticipants assess and improve their writing skills by analyzing their own paper in terms of focus of the article, connection with the literature, and structure. We discuss and provide training in identifying publishable parts of research projects, positioning the article, and developing an effective paper structure. Other topics include designing a compelling introduction, preparing the literature review, and writing the main sections (e.g., literature review, research design, data collection, data analysis, discussion and conclusion).\n
Case material: the participant\u2019s own paper.<\/br><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Eelko Huizingh<\/strong> shares his rich publishing experience in a stimulating way. He has been active in academic publishing for almost 40 years and is a prolific high-level researcher. His track record includes over 500 publications, including several papers in top level academic journals. \n
Dr. Huizingh<\/strong> is part-time affiliated with the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), a top-100 university in both THE World University and Shanghai rankings. He was Vice President Scientific Affairs of ISPIM (International Society for Professional Innovation Management, 2007-2023).<\/br>\nTo signal his broad publishing experience: he has published in 13 different top journals at the ABS 3\/4\/4* level. More than 10 of his articles have been cited each 100+ times (Google Scholar). Some of them have even 1,000-3,000+ citations (Google Scholar).\n

The \u2018Designing Academic Papers\u2019 workshop aims at doctoral researchers who intend to write a journal article based on completed research and who have available at least an early draft version of their paper (this does not have to be a complete paper yet) that they can bring to the workshop as case material. Participants are required to bring a laptop with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop is held in English. Additionally the individual preparation work should be done before the workshop with the individual academic paper which will be used during the workshop.\n
In the both training days 2 light coffee&tea breaks will be provided by the organizers (at 10AM, at 3PM). The lunch at 12PM \u2013 is organized by each participant (the several cafeterias are in the SOC and other buildings).<\/br><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maximum number of participants is 14. The other registrants will be placed on a waiting list and will be informed as soon as a training spot becomes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
