Rather than a simple questioning on origin, the most interesting cases show how prehistory been conjugated to the critical present. And yet, the availability of the deep and extended past changed the historical consciousness in an contradictory way : not only it brought out \u201ea sense of an ending\u201c, the inescapable \u201enaturelness\u201c of history, but it also accentuated the feeling of accumulation, museification and exhaustion.
