Struggling to turn your research into publishable articles? Would you like a tool-kit to analyse your supervisee's writing?<\/strong>
Learn to analyse and draft a well-crafted introduction and abstract using the CARS (Creating a Research Space<\/em>) rhetorical model within the canonical IMRaD (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion<\/em>research article- together!

Together in your small discipline-specific group (or with your supervisor only), you will adapt these rhetorical models to critically assess the Introduction and\/or Abstract sections in both current research articles and your own writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We encourage you to bring your draft introduction and\/or abstract section in any stage of development (from initial ideas to completed draft) as well as two published articles that you are currently using. <\/em>

Supervisors will engage with structured approaches to analyzing and responding to doctoral writing, supporting clearer expectations and more effective feedback.

\u27a4 Roger Yallop<\/strong> - Research Fellow in Academic Writing at the University of Tartu, supporting students in developing academic writing skills through courses, workshops, and research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a4 Katarina Dam\u010devi\u0107<\/strong> - Researcher and academic coordinator at the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS), Germany, supporting students with writing retreats, workshops, and collaborative writing initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
