The course is in English<\/em>, with sessions on both days from 9:30 to 13:30.<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course is open to doctoral researchers and supervisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This course is designed to offer a theoretically-grounded, practice-oriented, reflexive introduction to the doing of reflexive thematic analysis (the approach developed by Virginia Braun and Victoria Clarke).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Format<\/strong>
The teaching combines a range of pedagogical styles and activities, from mini-lectures through classroom discussion, small-group and individual- classroom activity, and homework. It asks for a reflexively open and interrogative learning-engagement from participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the two days, you should have a deeper understanding of the potential (and limitations) of (reflexive) thematic analysis, important design considerations, and a good grasp of what doing reflexive thematic analysis looks like in practice, and what this sort of analysis can - and cannot - deliver).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not every aspect will be covered in depth, but the course aims to build skills, knowledge, and a critical reflexive practice related to coding and theme generation, that collectively provide a foundation for doing rigorous analysis that is both theoretically and methodologically congruent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Virginia Braun, School of Psychology, The University of Auckland<\/strong>
Professor Virginia Braun is a qualitative research expert and Professor of Psychology at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She is internationally known for co-developing reflexive thematic analysis together with Victoria Clarke, and for her influential contributions to qualitative methodology, gender and sexuality studies, and critical psychology. Her work has been widely used across the social sciences, health research, and education.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
