The course is held in English. Doctoral researchers from the faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences are welcome to attend.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Credits<\/strong>: 4 ECTS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This course introduces participants to the principles of scientific communication and the writing of scientific papers. While the primary focus will be on writing classic research articles, the course will also cover other types of scientific writing, such as reviews, conference abstracts, oral and written presentations at conferences, and preparing funding proposals. Participants will learn how to present their research results effectively across different media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have unfinished articles or are just starting to write, this course will be extremely beneficial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For doctoral researchers from Estonian universtities, participation is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements<\/strong>
Participants must be present at 80% of the lectures (this means that one can miss two half-days), and actively participate in the group discussions and exercises. Additionally, participants must complete four written assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Programme<\/strong>
study from 9 to 17.00 (four 90 min sessions); lunch from 12.30 to 13.30 and two breaks (30 min each)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certificate:<\/strong>
A certificate of completion will be provided, which can be used in the V\u00d5TA (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) program at your home university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitator<\/strong>
The course will be taught by Professor Gabor L\u00f6vei<\/strong>from Aarhus University, Denmark, the author of the book called<\/a> \u201cWriting and Publishing Scientific Papers: A Primer for the Non-English Speaker\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
