Target group<\/strong>
The workshop is intended for doctoral researchers in the Mathematics, Computer Science and Informatics branch of the Estonian Doctoral School. If places remain available, doctoral researchers from other fields are also welcome to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General information<\/strong>
Pursuing a PhD is an intellectually rewarding journey that offers the opportunity to explore new ideas, develop expertise and contribute to research. At the same time, doctoral studies often involve uncertainty, heavy workloads, high expectations and the challenge of making important decisions about both the doctoral journey and future career paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of this two-day interactive workshop is to help doctoral researchers better understand their strengths, develop more effective self-management strategies and reflect on their future career opportunities. Through guided reflection, discussions and evidence-based practical approaches, participants will explore ways to navigate the challenges of doctoral studies while building confidence and preparing for the next stage of their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first day focuses on taking ownership of the doctoral journey, developing practical strategies for self-management and making informed choices to support both productivity and well-being. The second day explores future career possibilities, helping participants identify their personal strengths, expand their professional networks and make thoughtful decisions about their next steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitator<\/strong>
Professor Geraldine Fitzpatrick<\/strong> is an internationally recognised researcher, educator, facilitator and coach with more than 15 years of experience supporting the professional development of doctoral researchers, academics and academic leaders. A former professor at TU Wien, she has delivered evidence-based academic career and leadership development programmes for universities and research organisations around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
