Data Science and AI in Forest ecosystem – atmosphere interactions

The summer school covers topics of Data Science, sensors, IoT, modern technologies in computing on data related to Forest ecosystems and atmopsheric measurements.

The event is split into two parts, one organised at the Järvselja Training and Experimental Forestry District and the SMEAR Estonia station.  In that part, we will develop in group projects sensor prototypes and deploy and test them on site in the forest at the SMEAR Estonia area.

The second part will take place at EMÜ in Tartu and we will build a cluster computer and deploy containerized services to it. These services are ideally linked to the prototypes build during the first part.

The Teachers are: Steffen M. Noe, (EMÜ), Ulrich Norbisrath (TÜ), Emilio Mercuri (UFPR, EMÜ).

Target audience are doctoral students and master level students.
