Seminar „Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis in Epidemiology: An Overview with a Focus on Flexible Dose–Response Meta-Analysis“

The seminar will provide a general methodological overview of systematic reviews and meta-analysis, covering formulation of the research question, study selection, data extraction and harmonisation, risk-of-bias assessment, random-effects meta-analysis, heterogeneity, and sensitivity analyses. A particular focus will be placed on dose-response meta-analysis and flexible modelling using splines. The methods will be illustrated throughout using recent meta-analysis of road traffic noise and cardiovascular disease as a practical example.
