Shift Happens: A 2-Day Practical Workshop
08/01/2026 10:30 – 09/01/2026 18:00
📍 kood/Võru (Tartu tn 25, Võru)
This workshop will be conducted in English.
The aim of the event is to encourage doctoral researchers to reflect on and interpret their research through the lens of entrepreneurship. During the practical workshop, participants will learn to recognize the entrepreneurial potential within their research and engage in thought exercises that develop their ability to think like entrepreneurs.
The event is structured as a hands-on workshop. Participants will be divided into teams of five, and each team will be assigned a problem selected from the participants’ own research projects. To facilitate this, the registration form asks each participant to briefly describe their research. The teams will then work on finding both scientific and entrepreneurial solutions to the problem. Throughout the process, the teams will be guided by mentors who have transitioned from science to business and are able to evaluate and appreciate both perspectives. Their experience will help participants discover new angles and understand how scientific ideas can be applied in entrepreneurial contexts.
At the end of the workshop, the teams will present their business ideas to the other participants and mentors, receiving valuable feedback. This provides doctoral researchers with an opportunity to test their ideas, gain practical insights, and strengthen their ability to present their research in an entrepreneurial framework.
