📍 Tallinn University
The event will be held in English.
Credits: 1 ECTS
The goal of this course is to provide students with the skills to construct and conduct social science researchusing text and discourse as an entry point.
The course both establishes a theoretical foundation for text/discourse analysis and takes a practical and applied approach, so that participants can acquire greater independence and confidence to conduct research autonomously. Beyond learning the skills of discourse analysis, this course is an invitation to produce analytical and critical research capable of grasping not only the visible but also the invisible and implicit dimensions of politics and society.
To complete the course and receive course certificate (1 ECT), students are expected to prepare the assigned readings in advance, actively participate in discussions, and engage in guided analytical tasks during the sessions. Participants will develop and refine a preliminary discourse-analytical research idea or design, applying the conceptual and methodological tools introduced in the course.
