Writing Retreat for Doctoral Researchers

Estonian Doctoral School for Social Sciences invites doctoral researchers to participate in the writing retreat in Pühajärve. The aim of this writing retreat is to offer doctoral researchers a calm environment that enables concentration and allows researchers to focus on weiting their doctoral thesis or article. You will also have the opportunity to get feedback on your work and exchange with other doctoral researchers.
Accommodation, catering, and, if needed, transport from Tallinn or Tartu to the venue and back will be provided by the Doctoral School to the participants. A bus will be ordered for transport, public transport tickets or a car ride with a personal car will not be compensated.
The writing retreat is organised by the University of Tartu, a partner of Estonian Doctoral School for Social Sciences. The facilitator is Kirsti Akkermann, Professor of Clinical Psychology, University of Tartu.
➤ In order to apply, You must fill out the application form that includes a short motivational letter about how participating in the writing retreat will help with Your doctoral thesis (goals and a working plan for the retreat). The deadline for the application form is midnight on May 21.
A maximum of 20 participants will be accepted to the writing retreat. Priority will be given to doctoral researchers who study in the field of social sciences, doctoral researchers who have not yet participated in a writing retreat this year and doctoral researchers who can participate in the retreat during the whole duration of the event.
