The primary goal of research is to advance human knowledge and understanding by discovering new facts, testing theories, or creating practical solutions to problems. Societal benefits can arise from all disciplines and from a wide range of approaches to knowledge valorisation. Nowadays, expectations regarding the societal impact of research are greater than ever before. However, predicting, measuring and communicating the potential and achieved impact of research is not easy.

The goal of the webinar is to explain the various forms of societal impact of research and why it is important to communicate it. The participants will be provided guidance on how to describe and communicate the impact of their doctoral research.

Facilitator
➤ The webinar will be conducted by Siret Rutiku, Head of the Grant Office at the University of Tartu. Rutiku has worked in research administration, including on issues related to research security, for more than ten years at both the Estonian Research Council and the University of Tartu.
