Academic Writing Series: Drafting the Introduction & Abstract Sections of Your Research Article
21/05 10:00 – 11:30
Online (via Zoom)
The webinar will be held in English.
Struggling to turn your research into publishable articles? Would you like a tool-kit to analyse your supervisee's writing?
Learn to analyse and draft a well-crafted introduction and abstract using the CARS (Creating a Research Space) rhetorical model within the canonical IMRaD (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussionresearch article- together!
Together in your small discipline-specific group (or with your supervisor only), you will adapt these rhetorical models to critically assess the Introduction and/or Abstract sections in both current research articles and your own writing.
We encourage you to bring your draft introduction and/or abstract section in any stage of development (from initial ideas to completed draft) as well as two published articles that you are currently using.
Supervisors will engage with structured approaches to analyzing and responding to doctoral writing, supporting clearer expectations and more effective feedback.
