Baltic Basement Spring School 2026

The Spring School focuses on the crystalline basement geology of the Baltic region , including regional correlations, geochemical data analysis, drill-core interpretation and modern geophysical exploration methods.

The event is a three-day intensive doctoral-level training combining lectures, practical workshops and hands-on sessions at the Arbavere core repository.

Participants will work with whole-rock geochemical datasets using GCDkit software, practice lithological description and regional correlation of crystalline rocks, and gain insight into drone-based geophysical survey methods. A scientific poster session will support research exchange among participants.

The maximum number of participants is 35.
In case of high demand, participants will be selected based on academic background and relevance of research topic. Priority is given to doctoral students of Estonian universities in accordance with the Doctoral School funding framework.
