Professor Matthew Dyson , Professor of Civil and Criminal Law at the University of Oxford, will deliver a lecture on comparative law methodology entitled "Roundabout Law”.
The lecture considers how law affects the lived reality of actors within a society. It blends methodologies — functional, structural, and cultural — with deeper questions about the nature of comparative law; in particular, whether it is merely a method or whether it also has substance.
