Neuroscience: Innovation and the Next Generation – Celebrating 25 Years of Neuroscience Doctoral Education in Estonia

Target group
The event is open to doctoral researchers and supervisors from the Estonian Doctoral School’s branches of medical and health sciences, veterinary science, natural sciences, and agricultural sciences.

General information
In 2026, the University of Tartu celebrates 25 years of doctoral education in neuroscience. The anniversary conference will look back at the development of neuroscience and doctoral education in neuroscience in Estonia, while focusing primarily on the future: where neuroscience is heading over the next 25 years, what kind of neuroscience Estonia will need in the future, and how we can support the development of the next generation of researchers.

Throughout the day, the programme will bring together basic and clinical neuroscience, psychiatry and neurology, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, translational research, and knowledge transfer. A dedicated programme for doctoral researchers and early-career researchers will include a poster session, one-to-one mentoring with neuroscience alumni, and opportunities to connect with experts from different fields.
