Guest lecture in reproductive medicine „Expanding the scope of non-invasive prenatal screening”
13/03 13:15 – 14:45
📍Ravila 19 – 1006, Tartu and online
Non-invasive prenatal screening has swiftly been implemented as a first or second-tier test for common fetal aneuploidies. It relies analyzing circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from maternal blood. This cfDNA comprises both the maternal and fetal genetic material. Recent research has shown further added value of cfDNA analysis, e.f. in early prediction of actionable pregnancy complications or maternal cancer. This expanding scope of non-invasive prenatal screening promises to transform obstetric care from reactive to preventive, personalized medicine.
