09/10 – 10/10
At the University of Tartu's Institute of Education, Jakobi 5, Tartu
The event will be held in English.
Issues of sustainability are cross-disciplinary and cross-temporality in nature. The Autumn Symposium will explore the concept of sustainability from psychological, cultural and scientific perspectives. We will explore how debates around sustainability have evolved historically, how emotions relate to the issue, and how and what alternative futures can be offered by forward-looking science education.
The first day of the event invites you to listen to presentations by leading researchers, to think and debate. On the second day, we will continue the discussions on a shared walk, offering the opportunity to participate in a thematic workshop and also to actively contribute to the debates.
Register for the event here.
Registration closes when places are filled or September 18, 2025.
Doctoral and Master’s students, along with supervisors who are interested in the topic, are welcome. The event is highly interdisciplinary in nature. Preference will be given to PhD students whose research topics address the societal dimension of sustainability, followed by Master’s students interested in the topic.
