Target group

The course is intended for doctoral researchers, master’s students and supervisors from the Estonian Doctoral School for Medical and Health Sciences, Veterinary Medicine.

General information

The course introduces the concept of ventilatory thresholds and metabolic zones and their application in training. The course includes a lecture and a workshop.

Programme

10.15–11.45 – lecture “Determination of Ventilatory Thresholds and the Concept of Metabolic Zones”

13.00–16.00 – workshop “Determination of Ventilatory Thresholds and Metabolic Zones Based on Training Data”

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, participants will:

  • have a better understanding of the concept of ventilatory thresholds;
  • be able to interpret the results of an incremental test;
  • be able to use the training intensity and duration model when planning training.
