The Medical, Health Sciences and Veterinary branch of the Doctoral School brings together doctoral and advanced master’s students from four Estonian universities – the University of Tartu, Tallinn University, Tallinn University of Technology, and the Estonian University of Life Sciences.
Our aim is to strengthen the quality of research and to connect doctoral candidates with their supervisors. This branch supports doctoral students in their disciplinary training, the development of transferable skills, and the progress of their dissertations. We also foster inter-university collaboration and the growth of international networks by inviting experts to Estonia and broadening the academic horizons of our doctoral students. To this end, we organize writing retreats, seminars, workshops, conferences, and training courses. Among our initiatives have been inspiring seminars such as “Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine” and practice-oriented research days like “Navigating the Research Landscape as a Doctoral Student: A Conscious Approach.”
