The Estonian Doctoral School for Social Sciences brings together all doctoral researchers, supervisors, and advanced master’s students in the field of social sciences from four Estonian universities: University of Tartu, Tallinn University, Tallinn University of Technology, and Estonian Business School.
The aim of the Doctoral School for Social Sciences is to support doctoral researchers in their academic development, the enhancement of general competencies, and progress with their dissertation to ensure successful completion. Additionally, the doctoral school for social sciences fosters interdisciplinary communication, inter-university cooperation, and the improvement of supervision quality.
To achieve these goals, the Doctoral School for Social Sciences organizes a variety of academic events, including trainings, seminars, workshops, spring and summer schools, and writing retreats. These events often feature international experts invited to Estonia. Furthermore, the doctoral school supports doctoral researchers’ participation in international conferences and seminars, contributing to the internationalization of doctoral studies and offering valuable opportunities for building global academic networks.
