On 11 February 2026, a seminar titled “Engineering + PhD = Stronger Economic Impact” will take place in the TalTech Aula (Tallinn), focusing on the role of doctoral degrees in shaping a more knowledge-intensive and competitive economy.
The seminar will address the value created by doctoral degrees, how PhD-qualified specialists generate economic impact, and why Estonia needs more industrial doctoral candidates and where they actually end up in the labour market.
Programme:
- valuing doctoral degrees as a prerequisite for economic growth
- overview of industrial doctoral studies and their importance
- best practices: career stories from companies and the public sector
- panel discussion: “How Can Estonia Become a More Knowledge-Intensive and Wealthier Society?”
