Public lecture: Inflammatory markers in peripheral artery disease
08/06 11:00 – 11:45
📍 L. Puusepa 8, Linkberg auditorium
The lecture will be held in English. Anyone interested is welcome to attend!
The lecture is related to the topic of doctoral researcher Kadri Eerik's doctoral thesis, discussing the role of biomarkers in the clinical management of peripheral arterial disease.
Peripheral arterial disease is an expression of a malignant vascular phenotype. These patients experience serious cardiovascular complications several times more often than other patients with atherosclerosis. The progression of the disease can lead to lower limb amputation, which is devastating to the quality of life and a major socioeconomic burden on society as a whole. Therefore, scientific research is needed to clarify the pathogenesis of the disease in more detail, in order to find new prognostic biomarkers and targets for precision therapy.
➤ Lecturer: Anders Gottsäter, Professor of Skåne University Hospital, Sweden .
